    Justus is an experienced capital markets expert, with over 10 years of experience in capital markets operations and strategy. His main focus has been on providing strategic research advisory in the areas of capital markets strategy planning, infrastructure, new product development, capital markets systems & process improvement and stakeholder engagement among others.

    At capital markets Authority, he has been coordinating and conducting research studies and surveys aimed at assessing, establishing and developing new policies, systems and strategies aimed at removing obstacles and creating incentives for developing innovative products that address capital market gaps.

    Some of the Research advisory services offered in the recent past include; advisory on issues that need to be reviewed in Kenya’s in Clearing, Settlement and Reporting transactions reporting infrastructure, coordinating collaborative researches and surveys on capital market products and services. He has also participated in reviewing performance, characteristics and trends, business practices and financial risks in capital markets, in addition to advising on Strategic Planning in capital markets. The latest areas handled focus on prerequisites before launch of products such as Global Depositary Receipts (GDRs) and Global Depositary Notes (GDNs), Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), Margin Trading and Securities Lending and Borrowing, Short Selling and Islamic Finance, among others.

    In the past he has also worked as Head of Research in one of Kenya’s medium-size Investment Banks, providing research and advisory services after establishing a fully-fledged department. He has also actively participated in offering advisory services in primary issuance of shares in Kenya. Justus has also in the past actively participated in Public–Private Partnership (PPP) as a resource person in the Private Sector Division of the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis.

    He holds an M.A and B.A degree in Economics from the University of Nairobi. He also has Human Resource Management and Accounting qualifications.
